Short Samples Showing Consistent Lexicon

Each section of this page focuses on a single Hebrew root. The heading of each section includes the Hebrew root, followed by the English representation of the root. After each heading is a small selection of verses showing various contexts in which the Hebrew root appears. The relevant root is shown in uppercase letters.

If you look up the same verses in a normal English translation, you will find that the same root is translated differently in different contexts. This is appropriate and necessary in order to show what the sacred author meant. However, HIERO reflects more clearly the words that the sacred author chose to write.
